Denise Ly-Lebreton

Denise Ly-Lebreton (* 1909 ?; † May 24, 1995 ) was a French sinologist , author and translator .

Life

In 1936 Denise Lebreton married Lǐ Fèngbái李凤 白 (1900-1984), a Chinese student from Zhǐjiāng 芷江 in Hunan in Paris .

In 1953 she moved to China and became a professor at Peking University . Later, she worked as an editor and translator at the Foreign Languages Press , where she among other things, the translation of the Selected Works of Mao Zedong to the French was involved.

On October 5, 1966, a picture of her and Mao Zedong appeared in the Rénmín rìbào《人民日报》, on which she wears a Red Guards armband .

Her ashes were buried in Babaoshan Cemetery in Beijing .
