The park on Borbyer Ufer in the Borby district of Eckernförde on Vogelsang Street is with object no. 7384 of the state of Schleswig-Holstein as a founding monument on the list of cultural monuments in Eckernförde .

The area in front of the Kaiserhof was raised in 1870/71 as flood protection and created as a park. In addition to the building of the Kaiserhof , which still exists today, the Marien-Louisen-Bad (hotel and bathing establishment) was located in the immediate vicinity of the park; both hotels were built in 1882, the bathing establishment in 1832. From 1917 until after the Second World War, it was also a few meters from the western end of the park there is also the Isern-Düker-Steg (also: Iserndükersteg ), a landing stage for submarines and warships (Isern Düker = iron divers, meaning: submarines).

Today there are many large deciduous trees in the green area, between which there are lawns and meadows. Three paths cross the park almost in a north-south direction, while the main path follows the waterfront as a promenade . In the center is the naturally designed outlet of the Lachsenbach, which comes piped from the north and flows under a bridge into the Baltic Sea . Two boules courts have been created at the eastern end . The park is classified as an area of interest by the Schleswig-Holstein State Archaeological Office , as bones and antler tools of the Ertebølle-Ellerbek culture have been found here.
