action
Dennis is a bodybuilder living with his mother. His parents are separated, his father was an alcoholic. Dennis invites Patricia on a date, but is too shy to tell his authoritarian mother, who keeps reproaching him for not wanting to have dinner with her until he does. When his mother compares him to his father, however, he leaves the house furiously and goes on his date, as a result of which they both drive to Patricia at home, where their friends are. They ask Dennis to undress, which he does after some persuasion, but when two young men enter the apartment, embarrassed he leaves the apartment and drives home, where he finally sleeps in bed with his mother.

criticism
“He i sig selv beundringsværdig to manuscript ideas. Filming of the stakes and the inconvenient ved the monstrous menneske with the lille hjerne and the store hjerte. The både smukt og en smule bevægende and leather tankern on mange classic eventyr, fx HC Andersens 'Den grimme ælling'. Kim Kolds portræt af Dennis he ramt: evigt selv-undskyldende, lavmælt and med blikket slået ned i jorden. Som Dennis' mor er Elsebeth Steentoft raffineret martyrisk. "
“The script idea is admirable in itself. The film worships the pitiful and the poor in the monstrous person with the small brain and big heart. It's both beautiful and a little moving and directs your mind to great classic fairy tales like Hans Christian Andersen's The Ugly Duckling . Kim Kold's portrait of Dennis is handsome: eternally innocent, quiet and with his eyes turned to the earth. As Dennis' mother, Elsebeth Steentoft is subtle and martyr. "
