Dennis Kaupp (born July 26, 1972 in Stuttgart ) is a German author , editor and actor .

Life

Dennis Kaupp grew up in Stuttgart and graduated from the Friedrich-Eugens-Gymnasium in 1992 . He then studied information science for three years in Stuttgart with a focus on media. Kaupp was also active as a freelancer for the Stuttgarter Nachrichten , dpa and Sat.1 .

In 1998 he first worked at SWR , but in 2002 he switched to NDR television and continued his work there. Kaupp acted in various entertainment shows, but also as a director and author for the political magazine Panorama .

Dennis Kaupp has also been an author for the political satirical magazine Extra 3 since 2002 and also appears in front of the camera in various articles. Kaupp regularly interviews Johannes Schlueter ( Jesko Friedrich ), who has a different profession in each episode (“combustion flag producer”, “ Bush pilot”, “ Trump pilot” etc.) and is asked critical questions.

In addition, Kaupp writes the lyrics for the Extra 3 songs together with Friedrich (e.g. Putin Kampfschlumpf ) and sings them himself.

From 2005 to 2008 Dennis Kaupp and Jesko Friedrich produced their own comedy show Sehr funny for NDR. Both were responsible for directing and writing the sketches and were also the main actors of the show. From 2009 both were then on the show Dennis and Jesko , the successor to Very funny .

In 2012 Kaupp and Friedrich published the book I am too many - the 23 crazy lives of Johannes Schlueter .

In April 2016, Kaupp and Friedrich published their song Erdowie, Erdowo, Erdogan , a satirical clip about Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Extra 3 . He felt offended and called in the German ambassador Martin Erdmann twice. The song drew the Böhmermann affair with it.

Kaupp and Friedrich have been working as authors for the format wumms von Funk since 2016 . Here they are responsible for satirical sports songs and the cartoon series Monsters of Kreisklasse .

Awards

In 2009 Kaupp and Friedrich received the Adolf Grimme Prize for their Extra 3 category Johannes Schlueter .

In 2013, Dennis Kaupp received the Juliane Bartel Prize together with Jesko Friedrich for the Extra-3 film Schlüter: This is how women become men .

In 2016 he received the German Comedy Award with Extra 3 .

In 2018 Kaupp received the German television award with Extra 3 .

In May 2019, the editors of got oomph for the video Monsters of Kreisklasse against religions the Civis .
