Dennis Utter

Dennis Utter (born February 21, 1939 in Wheatland , Wyoming , † December 27, 2011 in Hastings , Nebraska ) was an American politician ( Republican Party ).

Life

Utter grew up on a farm near Wheatland. He studied agriculture at the University of Wyoming , where he received a master's degree in agricultural economics . He then worked as a bank clerk in McCook . While living in McCook, he was a member of the City Council and held the office of mayor. In 1978 he and his family moved to Kenesaw , where he became president and later chairman of the Adams County Bank . In 2001 he retired and moved to Hastings.

In 2008 Utter was elected to the Nebraska Legislature and was a member from 2009 until his death. He was a member of the Banking, Commerce and Insurance Committee and was vice chairman of the Revenue Committee .

Utter was married and had three children, two sons and a daughter. He died of lung disease on December 27, 2011 at the age of 72.
