The Chalileo department is located in the west of the La Pampa province in central Argentina and is one of the province's 22 administrative units .
In the north it borders on the provinces of Mendoza and San Luis , in the west on the department Chical Co , in the east on the department Loventué and in the south on the department Limay Mahuida .
