The Loventué department is centrally located in the La Pampa province in central Argentina and is one of the province's 22 administrative units .

In the north it borders on the province of San Luis , in the west on the departments Chalileo and Limay Mahuida , in the east on the departments Conhelo and Toay and in the south on the department Utracán .

The capital of the department is Victorica .

Other municipalities are Telén and Quemado, parts of the municipal area of Luan Toro and the Comisión de fomento Loventué.
