background

As in his previous works, LaFave also covered several pieces by his role models such as Bob Dylan , Bruce Springsteen or John Waite for Depending on the Distance . The album includes Waite's hit Missing You and well-known Dylan songs like Tomorrow Is A Long Time , but also eight songs that LaFave wrote himself.

Stylistically, the album was classified between folk and country music. It also contained influences from southern rock and roots music . As in his earlier works, his new CD featured many ballads, even though some rock songs were also included.

The album was released on CD on October 8, 2012 on Music Road Records . It followed his last studio album, Cimarron Manifesto , released five years earlier , as well as his compilation album Favorite's .
