Nová Ves depot II

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nová Ves Depot II (also Hortfund II von Nová Ves ) is a depot find of the Early Bronze Age Aunjetitz culture from Nová Ves u Brloha in Jihočeský kraj , Czech Republic . It dates to between 1800 and 1600 BC. Chr.

Find history

The depot was discovered in 2008 northeast of Nová Ves with a metal detector . The site is on a small plateau called "U Vacla". The depot was found at the foot of a burial mound . The objects lay in a shallow pit, disorganized. An archaeological follow-up examination of the site did not reveal any further findings or findings . Another depot of the Aunjetitz culture was discovered just 150 m away .

composition

The depot consists of twelve cast copper chunks and a bronze shaft tube ax . The tin content of 21.6% determined by X-ray fluorescence analysis for the bronze alloy of the ax should in reality be lower. The measurement was probably falsified because measurements were taken directly on the surface of the corrosion layer.
