The Depot I of Nová Ves (also hoard I Nová Ves ) is a hoard of Early Bronze Age Unetice culture of Nová Ves u Brloha in Jihočeský kraj , Czech Republic . It dates between 2000 and 1800 BC. Chr.

Find history

The depot was discovered in 2008 northeast of Nová Ves with a metal detector . The site is on a small plateau called "U Vacla". An archaeological follow-up examination of the site did not reveal any further findings or findings . A second depot of the Aunjetitz culture was discovered just 150 m away .

composition

The depot consists of twelve bronze objects : ten eyelet neck rings and two arm spirals . The rings were bundled and held together by the suspended spirals. The depot was covered with a stone. The total weight of the items is 2.536 kg.

The bronze alloys used have a high proportion of arsenic (between 1.8% and 4.9%) and antimony (between 0.75% and 2.1%). The silver content is also quite high at well over 1%. However, tin is only present in traces.
