Der Falke (subtitle: Journal für Vogelbeobachter ) is a monthly ornithological magazine published by Aula-Verlag .

The falcon publishes reports on avifauna in various countries around the world and on current ornithological topics in Germany. There are thematic and personal overlaps with ornithological specialist societies and associations such as the umbrella association of German Avifaunists (DDA) and the NABU . Until the appearance of the magazine Vögel - magazine for bird watching in 2004, Der Falke was the only general-interest magazine for bird watching in Germany. As a more scientifically oriented journal, the journal Die Vogelwelt appears on the same topic in the Aula-Verlag .

The falcon appeared for the first time in 1953 and has a circulation of 14,000 copies (2019). Editor-in-chief is Norbert Schäffer .
