The curse is a side project of the music group OHL . The band was founded in 1981 by German W established.

history

In the beginning, the music was influenced by psychobilly bands like The Cramps and Meteors and of course by OHL. The first album was released in 1982 on Rock-O-Rama . In the same year they released the single Envoy of Horror . The curse also took part in the first rock-o-rama sampler, Die Deutschen Come .

The band was on hold for 12 years until the CD Forever was released in 1994 . The musical style had changed, the music became heavier and more adapted to the main band. The lyrics are still the best selling films and B-movies of Universal Studios affected. In 1994 the song Betet für uns appeared on the sampler Godfathers of German Gothic and thus pays tribute to the influence of Der Fluch on the German Gothic-Rock scene. By 2002 the band had released three more albums. The curse has also been involved in various compilations , including the Welcome-to-Nightmare-Melody and Soundtracks-to-Doom series.

The band still exists, but only plays live sporadically. In 2007 several live performances together with Xandria and Lacrimas Profundere were canceled because the band was "too unchristian" for the organizer. The music group could be seen at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen that same year. They also played an OHL ( Warsaw Pact ) piece there . Tales from the Crypt contains three new songs and new recordings of songs from the band's early works.

Although the band was one of the first to provide German punk with Misfits- like lyrics, they were initially ridiculed in Germany. The early works are now regarded as sought-after rarities, but did not sell well in their time.
