Derek Haas (born June 30, 1970 ) is a script and screenwriter.

life and career

In 2008 he published the first novel in his book series about the young hit man Columbus, The Silver Bear , which was published in 2009 in German translation under the name Killer by Ullstein Verlag . The sequel Columbus was released in 2009. Derek Haas has also worked as a screenwriter and co-author of numerous Hollywood films. Derek Haas is the editor of popcornfiction, his former website where he published short stories by various authors. One of his own works, Shake , was sold to Bruckheimer Films . He now operates the portal as a Twitter account @popcornfiction in cooperation with the publishing house Mulholland Books.

Haas is involved in the development of the Chicago Fire and Chicago PD series and writes his own scripts for them. He is also listed in the credits as creator and executive producer at the spin-offs Chicago Med and Chicago Justice . He is also executive producer of the FBI television series , which, like the Chicago franchise, is produced by Dick Wolf's Wolf Films company.

Derek Haas lives in Los Angeles .
