Derek Hogg (born November 4, 1930 in Norton , † November 4, 2014 ) was an English football player .

Athletic career

After completing his military service in Egypt, Hogg, who had previously played in non-league football in the Lancashire Combination , joined Leicester City in the Second Division in 1952 . In 1954, the winger rose with the team in the Fist Division , but the stay in the top English division lasted only one season. In 1957 he rose again to the first division with the club, at which time he was in the starting line-up 104 times in a row.

In April 1958, Hogg moved within the English championship to West Bromwich Albion , with his new club he was in the top third of the table in the following seasons. In October 1960 he moved to the first division promoted Cardiff City , where he ran up to relegation to the second division in the summer of 1962. He then let his career end in the Southern Football League at Kettering Town .

Hogg died in the fall of 2014 on his 84th birthday after an illness.
