Derek Meddings
Derek Meddings (born January 15, 1931 in London , England ; † September 10, 1995 there ) was a British specialist in special effects and models.
He appeared in many James Bond films and won an Oscar for Superman . He was nominated for another Oscar for the numerous special effects sequences in space at Moonraker , but drew the shorter one against " Alien ". He was also the developer for the special effects for the television series Thunderbirds . In September 1995, he died after completing the filming of Goldeneye on a cancer . In the end credits of the film, it is remembered with the words "to the memory of Derek Meddings" .
