Derk Jan Eppink (born November 7, 1958 in Steenderen ) is a Dutch journalist and politician ( FvD , formerly LDD , Belgium). He was a member of the European Parliament from 2009 to 2014 and from 2019 .

Eppink has worked as a journalist and columnist for various newspapers and magazines such as De Standaard and Knack .

From 2009 to 2014 he sat for the Flemish- Belgian party Lijst DeDecker in the European Parliament . He replaced Jean-Marie Dedecker , who did not accept the mandate. Eppink was a member of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee and the delegation for relations with the United States . Eppink is deputy in the Committee on Budgets , the Committee on Budgetary Control and in the delegations: Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries ; Delegation for relations with the People's Republic of China and delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean .

In 2019, Eppink was the top candidate of the Dutch FvD and moved into the European Parliament again.
