Libertair, Direct, Democratisch ( German Libertär , Direkt, Demokratisch ; short LDD), to until January 2011 under the name Lijst Dedecker , is a right-wing liberal party in Flanders . It was on 19 January 2007 by the former VLD - Senator Jean-Marie Dedecker founded.
history
After leaving the VLD and a short interlude with the N-VA party , Dedecker and fellow campaigners set up the Cassandra think tank . From this think tank the basis for a new right-wing liberal party in Flanders developed.
Soon the younger ones in the brand new party formed their own youth organization, which they named "Jong Gezond Verstand". On April 20, 2007, the party announced that it would change its name to “Partij van het Gezond Verstand” after the elections on June 10, 2007. On May 19, 2007, the party held a large electoral meeting with 600 in Antwerp . In April 2011 the youth organization also changed its name, it became "JongLibertairen". A new board was also elected on September 24, 2011, with Luc Rochtus as the new chairman.
In the federal elections on June 10, 2007, the party received 6.5 percent of the vote and thus jumped the five percent hurdle . It has the prospect of an annual grant of € 825,000.
In the 2009 European elections , the LDD reached a seat in the European Parliament , where the fraction ECR joined. From October 2009 to 2014 she was a member of the European AECR party .
program
The party took part in the June 10, 2007 elections and stood under the slogan gezond understood , which means common sense . Gezond Verstand is also the subtitle of the party logo. The most important program items are as follows:
- the introduction of a social flat tax of 30 percent on income.
- the reduction in corporate tax from 33.9 percent to 19 percent.
- a time limit on unemployment benefits
- the abolition of superfluous administrative regulations
- a confederal Belgium and the abolition of the provinces, whose competences are to be divided between the confederation and the regions
- Keeping nuclear energy
- against Turkey's accession to the EU
- complete freedom of expression
- Introduction of a direct democracy with binding referendums
Members
A well-known member is Boudewijn Bouckaert , who has already followed Dedecker from the VLD to the N-VA. Lijst Dedecker does not rule out a collaboration with the Vlaams Belang, thereby breaking the cordon sanitaire .
On April 12, 2007, Jean-Marie Dedecker announced that former Olympic champion Ulla Werbrouck would be on his list in the June 10, 2007 elections
