The Derner Höhe is a flat, undulating ridge in the north of the city of Dortmund . The districts of Eving , Kirchderne , Derne , Kemminghausen and Lindenhorst are located on it .
The Derner Höhe is naturally an isolated part of the otherwise contiguous Kamen hill country . In Kemminghausen it reaches a good 100 m , which means that it towers above its surrounding area, in particular the Dortmund Hellweg Valley in the south and the Emscher Valley in the west, by just 30-40 m.
The hill is made of marls of Untersenons and Emscher marl constructed and moraine and loess loam superimposed.
