Kamen flat wave country

As Kamen flat shaft country which is terraced valley of Seseke and its left tributaries east, southwest and northwest of Kamen , Kreis Unna , Westphalia designated. It represents the north-westerly part of the lower part of the Hellwegbörden main unit in the south of the Westphalian Bay and extends the Soest lower part to the west.

The flat, undulating landscape creates a connection between Dortmund's Hellwegtal in the south and the Middle Lippetal in the northwest. It also separates the Derner Höhe in the south west from the core ridge of the Kamen hill country in the north east. The land, which is covered with a layer of loess clay of varying thickness, is mainly used for arable farming, but also includes dense residential areas in the Ruhr area , especially in the west, where the Dortmund district of Scharnhorst is reached .

Location and limits

The Kamener Flachwellenland stretches, starting in the extreme west of the Werls district or the Soest district ( Westhilbeck ) on the course of the Seseke and its southern side valleys in the Unna district of Flierich and Bramey-Lenningsen in the south of Bönens over the district of Heeren-Werve and Kern- and Südstadt Kamens (plus Unna - Afferde ) and the western districts of Westick , Kaiserau , Wasserkurl and Methler to the south of Lünen with Niederaden , Horstmar and the actual Südstadt.

The north-eastern Dortmund district of Scharnhorst (excluding the extreme south and west) occupies the south-west. The Körnebach, by far the most important tributary of the Seseke , also comes from here .
