Christian Friedrich von Bandemer

Christian Friedrich von Bandemer (born December 30, 1717 in Wusseken , † May 10, 1782 in Sorchow ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

He was the son of Mathias Moritz von Bandemer (* 1693; † February 29, 1759 in Wusseken), heir to Wusseken, and his wife Agnes Esther, née von Natzmer (* 1694, † April 15, 1764).

In 1736 Bandemer became a private corporal in the infantry regiment "Prince Leopold" and on April 6, 1739 an ensign . In 1740/42 he took part in the battles of Mollitz and Chotusitz , as well as in the sieges of Glogau and Brieg . On February 24, 1741 he was promoted to second lieutenant. After taking part in the Battle of Kesselsdorf during the campaign in 1744/45 , Bandemer was appointed Premier Lieutenant on August 11, 1744 . On June 4, 1752 he became captain and company commander . During the Seven Years' War he took part in the Battle of Lobositz , was wounded and was awarded the Order of Pour le Mérite . On August 4, 1758 he became major , on June 9, 1765 lieutenant colonel . On May 20, 1770 he became a colonel and on December 27, 1771 commander of the infantry regiment "Prince Friedrich von Braunschweig" . On January 26, 1775 he was canon of St. Nikolai in Magdeburg . After he had been appointed chief of the infantry regiment “von Koschembar” on October 20, 1776 , he was promoted to major general on January 17, 1777. On May 27, 1777, he was given the responsibility of governor of Treptow at Rega . At his own request he resigned from military service on March 23, 1778 for health reasons.

Bandemer died unmarried in 1782.
