Coat of arms of those of Natzmer

Natzmer is the name of an old Pomeranian noble family . The family, some of whose branches still exist today, later also acquired property and reputation in the Mark Brandenburg , Saxony and Silesia . There is a tribal relationship to a post-aristocratic line that was ennobled in 1832 .

history

origin

The family was first mentioned in documents in 1208 with Nacmarus as castellanus de Demmin ( Burgmann zu Demmin ). 1228 Nacimarus and Nacimer are mentioned in documents. They are probably identical to the castle men Wizoslaus and Andreas Natzmer mentioned by Kneschke and Zedlitz-Neukirch and appearing in the same year , as witnesses in a donation letter from the village of Neurian, issued by Duke Wratislaw von Pommern-Demmin, concerning the abbot of Walbuch .

The uninterrupted line of trunks began in 1330 with Peter von Natzmer on Järshagen , married to Ida von Zitzewitz from the Varzin family .

Spread and personalities

A descendant of the progenitor Peter was Carsten Natzmer, who lived around 1470 on Ristow . He was the grandfather of the brothers Hans auf Ritzenhagen and Heinrich Bogislaus Natzmer. Hans served as Rittmeister in France and Spain but was unable to continue the tribe. His brother Heinrich Bogislaus became ducal Pomeranian councilor and governor of Stolp around 1468 . Of his three sons, Wilhelm was prelate of Cammin in 1488 , provost of the cathedral in Stolpe and, most recently, Starost of Draheim . Anton auf Ristow appeared in 1527 as envoy of the Bishop of Cammin at the Reichstag in Regensburg . He later became councilor and court marshal of Duke Barnim XI. from Pomerania .

Anton (II.) Von Natzmer auf Gutzmin , a son of Claus von Natzmer, the brother of Anton and Wilhelm, was first ducal Pomeranian court advisor and later became governor of Stolpe and captain of Lauenburg . His grandchildren were Joachim Heinrich von Natzmer († 1670) on Gutzmin and Dubislaus on Vellin , district administrator in Western Pomerania . Joachim Heinrich married Barbara von Weyer and became district administrator in Brandenburg . He left two sons, Claus Ernst and Dubislav Gneomar von Natzmer (1654–1739). Claus Ernst von Natzmer († 1702) was first ducal councilor of Württemberg , later princely Bavarian privy councilor and feudal provost and since 1695 privy councilor of Brandenburg, prelate of Cammin and captain of Quackenburg. His brother Dubislav Gneomar von Natzmer was one of the most important representatives of the family. He was chief of the regiment gendarmes , Amtshauptmann among other things Neugardten and Massow , Prelate to Kolberg and Mr. uppercase and lowercase-Jannewitz, Gutzmin, Lubov and Wobesde. He died in 1739 as a royal Prussian field marshal (since 1728). His first marriage was to Sophie von Wrech and the second to Charlotte Justine von Gersdorf († 1763), widowed Countess von Zinzendorf and Pottendorf . The sons Carl Dubislaus († 1737), royal Prussian government and war councilor in Stettin , and Heinrich Ernst († 1739), royal Prussian cavalry master, come from the latter marriage . Both sons died unmarried before their father.

Even later, numerous members of the family distinguished themselves, especially in Prussian state, court and military services. Georg Christoph von Natzmer (1692–1751) became a royal Prussian major general. In 1806 ten family members served as officers in the royal Prussian army . Oldwig Anton Leopold von Natzmer (* 1782) was Premier Lieutenant and Adjutant in the 1st Guard Battalion in 1806 , later became Wing Adjutant of the Prussian King, Lieutenant General and Commanding General of the 1st Army Corps in Königsberg . He died in 1861 as the eldest adjutant general and general of the infantry on his Matzdorf estate in the former district of Creutzburg in Silesia . His marriage to Luise Henriette Countess von Richthofen from the Kohlhöhe family, which he entered into in Breslau in 1824 , remained childless.

On February 13, 1902, a family association and at the same time a family foundation were established.

Possessions

As early as the 15th century, the von Natzmer family owned extensive property, some of which were old feudal estates that have been preserved until very recently. Goods in Brandenburg, Saxony and Silesia could later be acquired through purchase, marriage and inheritance. At the beginning of the 18th century the family zu Lubow, as well as Gutzmin and Vettrin owned in the former district of Schlawe and Wobeste in the district of Stolp . Large and small Jannewitz also later became family property. Several of the purchased goods were originally fiefs of the von Knuth family. Field Marshal General Dubislav Gneomar von Natzmer owned, among other things, the von Knuthschen estates of Gutzmin, Lubow and Wobesde. The latter went to the captain and later major of the guard, Wulf Heinrich von Natzmer , who sold it to a major von Bandemer .

Mid-19th century had the Natzmer of the Kingdom of Prussia the estates Radem in district Regenwalde , Borkow in the district Schlawe and Donaborow and Jankow in the district sign mountain .
