Adolf von Natzmer

Adolf Albrecht von Natzmer (born May 25, 1801 in Schlagenthin , † April 12, 1884 in Potsdam ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

Adolf was a son of the Prussian captain and gentleman on Rosenow in the Regenwalde district Ernst von Natzmer (1776-1810) and his wife Karoline, born von Restorff (1773-1854). His brother Karl Heinrich (1799–1875) was a Prussian major general.

Military career

Natzmer visited the cadet houses in Potsdam and Berlin . Subsequently, on May 2, 1818, he was transferred to the 2nd Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army as a portepeef ensign and advanced to captain and company commander by mid-September 1840 . On March 27, 1847, Natzmer was promoted to major in command of III. Battalion in the 7th Landwehr Regiment and rose to lieutenant colonel by the end of March 1853 . On November 8, 1853, he joined the 23rd Infantry Regiment as a battalion commander . This was followed by his appointment as commander of the 10th Infantry Regiment on May 10, 1855 and his promotion to colonel in mid-July 1855 . On May 22, 1858, he was placed in command of the 25th Infantry Brigade and à la suite of his previous regiment. His promotion to major general took place on November 22, 1858 and in this capacity he received the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves, on September 20, 1861 . Under awarding of the character as a lieutenant general Natzmer was on April 7, 1863 board for disposition made.

During the German War , on June 26, 1866, he was appointed partner for the Elector Friedrich Wilhelm von Hessen-Kassel , interned in Stettin . He stayed there until September 17, 1866 when the elector was released from there.

He died in Potsdam on April 12, 1884.

Natzmer married Elise von Kleist (1814-1896) on April 12, 1838 in Stettin . The couple had several children:
