Hans Christoph von Natzmer

Hans Christoph von Natzmer (born September 14, 1743 in Pretzsch ; † October 1, 1807 in Graudenz ) was a Prussian major general , chief of infantry regiment No. 54 and heir of a Geitzeln, district of Prussian Holland .

Life

Hans Christoph was the son of Wolf Heinrich Ernst von Natzmer (1699–1770) and his wife Johanna Sidonie von Trotha (1705–1771) from the Krosigk family. His father was a Prussian lieutenant in the cuirassiers no. 6 and later Duke of Saxony Amtshauptmann of Schkopau, Pretzsch , Korseburg and Gieckau .

Military career

Natzmer came in 1762 in the Guard of Hesse-Kassel and became 1765 second lieutenant in the 1st Battalion. The following year he was promoted to prime lieutenant with the rank of captain . In 1773 Natzmer said goodbye , entered the Prussian service and was hired on May 5, 1773 as captain and company commander in the "von Lengefeld" infantry regiment . During the War of the Bavarian Succession he took part in the battle of Habelschwerdt . On June 22, 1784 he was major and on May 10, 1788 commander of the infantry regiment "Graf von Schwerin". On June 6, 1791 he became lieutenant colonel and on February 20, 1793 colonel . During the campaign in Poland Natzmer took part in the capture of Warsaw and in the battle of the Rawka . On June 8, 1794 he received the order Pour le Mérite . On January 28, 1799 he became chief of the infantry regiment "von Mosch". Shortly afterwards, on May 20, 1799, he was promoted to major general with a patent from May 22, 1799.

During the Fourth Coalition War , Natzmer and his regiment belonged to the Blücher corps and after the battle of Lübeck was captured by the French through the surrender of Ratekau . He was put on half pay on August 10, 1807 and died a little later on October 1, 1807 in Graudenz.

Natzmer married Henriette von Brederlow (1750-1823) on February 11, 1777 on Maldeuten . The couple had the following children:
