Dero Goi
Dero Goi (* 16th April 1970 in Wolfsburg as Stephan Musiol ) is a German musician and lyricist. He gained fame as the singer and drummer of the new German hardship band Oomph! .
Life
Dero Goi grew up in the working class of Wolfsburg in Lower Saxony , the city where he met his friend Andreas "Crap". Both began to make music in high school and formed their first band at the age of 15, later they lived together in a rented apartment. After graduating from high school, Goi did his community service . Goi studied psychology , but did not get a degree due to his musical career. He has two sons and is married.
On November 30, 2012, Goi and Christian Wolff announced the start of the swing project What about Bill . The group was formed in the United States .
The Cure , Killing Joke , Thirty Seconds to Mars , Einstürzende Neubauten , AC / DC , Depeche Mode , Extrabreit , Kraftwerk , The Beatles , Elvis Presley and ABBA had a major influence on his musical work .
Goi's texts are characterized above all by a high density of social criticism . So is two steps ahead of the album Fat Booty of Madness from the Great Depression and Sandmann child poverty in Germany.
Perhaps the most important sub-topic (before Des Wahnsinns fat booty ) of the social criticism of the agnostic Goi is the criticism of religion . He uses this material in, among other things, Celebrate the Cross , Did you believe , Schism , Sex has no power , INRI vs. Yahweh , God is a pop star , crucified , you play God , being human and the entire album GlaubeLiebeTod .
In 2006/07 he played a supporting role in the mystery radio play " Schattenreich ". In 2008 he acted as the German voice actor for a supporting character in the computer game Memento Mori . Since 2012 he has appeared with other music projects. Among other things, he released the album Panoptikum in 2020 together with the singer Chris Harms under the project name Die Kreatur .
