Desert Victory is a 1943 British documentary film about the Battles of El Alamein during World War II in July and October and November 1942.

Plot and award

The film depicts the two battles as key events in the war against National Socialist Germany and uses not only its own British film material, but also films captured by the German Wehrmacht to depict and explain German warfare and military tactics . On the other hand, the film also serves as a British propaganda film through the glorification of the soldiers of the British Army and the workers in the armaments industry , who, according to the cinematic representation, contributed decisively to victory in the battles.

The film was at the Oscar ceremony in 1944 with the Oscar for best documentary award.
