Desigual ([ desiˈɣwal ], Spanish for 'unequal', 'different'; stylized spelling : Deƨigual ) is a fashion brand of ABASIC SL from Barcelona , Spain .

history

The company was founded in 1984 by the Swiss Thomas Meyer in Barcelona. The first own shop was opened in 1986 in Ibiza Town .

The Spaniard Manel Adell joined in 2002 and, as CEO, brought the company on a growth path; In 2012 he left.

Christian Meyer, brother of the company's founder, was responsible for the expansion from 2003 to 2011.

Today, the company is represented with around 500 of its own stores and other sales outlets in 65 countries worldwide, including Germany since 2009. After the great growth rates of recent years, there have recently been losses. As part of the consolidation, the Swiss branches will be closed.

The current faces of the brand are mainly Adriana Lima , but also Erin Heatherton and Tony Ward.
