Desnœufs , occasionally also Île des Noeufs , is a small coral island and the southernmost island of the Amiranten , an island group in the western Indian Ocean that is one of the Outer Islands of the Seychelles . Desnœufs is almost 310 km away from Mahé , the main island of the Seychelles. The closest island is Marie Louise , 13 kilometers northeast.

The almost square island with an area of about 0.35 km² and an average of 50 meters wide, fine sandy beach protrudes up to 5 meters above sea level. However, it is only sparsely overgrown and surrounded in the northeast and south by a fringing reef in which there are several small sand islets.

On the north coast of Desnœufs there are some buildings that are occasionally used by scientists (mainly ornithologists ), as millions of seabirds breed on the island and the surrounding cays every year . The island is not inhabited by people all year round.
