Detlef Karney

Detlef Karney (born March 30, 1950 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1999 to 2009 he was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament for two electoral terms .

Life and work

From 1966 to 1968 he completed his vocational training as a construction machinist. He then learned the profession of vulcanizer for two years and finally became a vulcanizer master in 1973. He worked in his father's company until 1978 and then became an independent master craftsman and owner of the Karney industrial estate in Frankfurt (Oder).

Detlef Karney is Protestant and has two children.

He has been a member of the CDU since 1997 and was deputy district chairman of the CDU in the Oder-Spree district .

He became a member of the state parliament for the first time in the state elections in 1999. In the state elections in 2004, he entered the state parliament again via the state list . In the 4th electoral term he was deputy chairman of the Economic Committee. He was also a member of the Petitions Committee and an alternate member of the Committee on Science, Research and Culture. He headed the working group economy of the CDU parliamentary group in the Brandenburg state parliament.

His constituency included the towns of Eisenhüttenstadt and Friedland (Niederlausitz) , as well as the offices of Brieskow-Finkenheerd , Neuzelle and Schlaubetal .
