Detlef Uecker (born December 7, 1962 ) is a former soccer player who was active in the GDR upper league at BSG Stahl Riesa and BSG Stahl Brandenburg .

Athletic career

Uecker was included in the 1980/81 season from his own offspring in the GDR league team of BSG Chemie PCK Schwedt . In the following years he played there as a defender. When Schwedt had to relegate after the 1983/84 season because of a reduction in the GDR league from five to two seasons, Uecker moved to the GDR league club BSG Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt . In his one-year guest appearance, in which Eisenhüttenstadt narrowly missed promotion to the league with second place, Uecker played 28 of the 34 point games and was the top scorer of his team with his 19 goals.

For the 1985/86 season, Uecker joined the GDR upper division BSG Stahl Riesa . There he played his first league game as a substitute on the fifth match day. By the end of the season he was a total of twelve times in the league team, but was only five times in the starting line-up. In the first half of the 1986/87 season Uecker played for BSG Motor Babelsberg again in the GDR league, completed eight point games there and pointed to his striker qualities with eight goals. In October 1986, BSG Stahl Brandenburg brought the 23-year-old into their league team. There he was used in midfield until the winter break, but already scored a goal on his first appearance on the eighth league matchday, which he followed up with two more goals until the winter break. In the second half of the season, Uecker was injured only irregularly and was only able to score one point goal.

After only thirteen league matches, the Brandenburger Uecker sent them back to Motor Babelsberg. Although he only played 16 of the 34 point games during the GDR league season, he and Steffen Piel were again the best scorer with 14 goals. Although Uecker was registered for the GDR league team again for the 1988/89 season, he was no longer used there. Instead, he appeared in four league competitor BSG KWO Berlin matches , where he also scored one goal. 1989/90 Uecker was in the squad of the GDR league promoter BSG Chemie Velten . After Velten had canceled his team from the GDR league for economic reasons at the end of the season, Uecker joined the third division club Kickers Emden , where he played 35 games from 1991 to 1993 and scored 14 goals.
