The Detrick Peak is a 700 m high mountain on the Antarctic Ross Island . In the Kyle Hills, it rises 1.5 km east-southeast of Lutz Hill .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2000 after the American physicist and engineer Daniel L. Detrick from the University of Maryland , who from 1980 worked on the development and construction of measuring instruments for ionospheric research as part of the United States Antarctic Program at McMurdo Station , Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, and Siple Station .
