Detzel is a residential area belonging to the city of Haldensleben in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

Detzel is north of Haldensleben, a little west of the road from Haldensleben to Satuelle . Detzel Castle is to the east of the village . The Ohre and Mittelland Canal run west of the village . To the northeast rises the small, wooded ridge of the Detzel Mountains .

history

Detzels was first mentioned in a document in 1063 as Tatzili . In 1402 the village was mentioned with a Schulzen. From 1483, however, Detzel was desolate . The field mark was transferred to the von der Schulenburg family . In 1567, a little south of the former location, the Detzel estate was built , to which today's building goes back. The estate then existed until 1813 as a manor of the von der Schulenburg family. Later the estate was run by the von Bonin family . After Detzel Castle was built in 1844, Detzel served as the castle's farmyard from 1864.

Buildings

Today's buildings in Detzel are characterized by buildings dating from the 19th century. There are some remnants of older buildings. At the southern end there are the remaining parts of the former, very large, four-winged estate . The converted former pigeon tower standing in the courtyard is striking . In one of the manor's barns, private operators run a museum barn open to the public.

The estate was listed as an estate in the local monument register under registration number 094 30482 at least until 2005 . In 2015 it was listed as a former memorial.
