In March 2009, Rüdiger Nehberg and Tarafa Baghajati visited the Islamic legal scholar Yusuf al-Qaradawi , who lives in Qatar and is considered the most important contemporary authority on Sunni Islam. In a fatwa drawn up by the recognized legal scholar, the genital mutilation of girls is described as the “work of the devil” and is forbidden because it is directed against the ethics of Islam. In a speech at the Völkerkundemuseum in Hamburg on February 6, 2011, Baghajati dared to predict that he would be able to celebrate the end of this custom in 2020.

Baghajati is co-founder of the platform Christians and Muslims founded in 2006 as well as co-founder and board member of the initiative EMISCO - European Muslim Initiative for Social Cohesion, founded in 2010. On May 29, 2011, Baghajati was elected to the committee of the IRG (Islamic Religious Community Vienna) as cultural advisor of the IRG-Vienna.

In 2010 he defended in a newspaper commentary television preacher Yusuf Al-Qaradawi only "criticized the spread of commercial Christmas kitsch in Muslim society" and that there was no question of a "hate sermon".

In his book contribution on integration, racism and the global economic crisis with the title: New discourse on Islam in Europe and Austria - From a “foreigner debate” to an “Islam debate” , Baghajati criticized the adoption of the term “Islamophobia” from the Anglo-Saxon area. He also speaks out against the use of the term xenophobia in relation to European Muslims and suggests the following definition: “ Islamophobia is a hostile attitude towards Islam and Muslims. It makes use of existing prejudices, generalizations and pseudo-scientific theories and thus justifies the discrimination against Muslims. This discrimination can be reflected directly as well as indirectly, indirectly and directly. The spectrum ranges from an attitude of arrogant superiority towards the culturally inferior group of Muslims and their religion, which prevents contact at eye level, to a conscious reduction in equal opportunities, be it in education, the world of work or in access to housing and goods as well as up to for the use of physical violence as an extreme form of discrimination. "

In a guest commentary on apostasy and apostasy in 2006, Baghajati wrote that a death sentence should be rejected in the event of a change of religion.

Tarafa Baghajati appears in several statements against IS “Daesh / Islamic State”. He sees an overall solution in Syria as the only way to combat them effectively. In this political solution, neither Assad nor the terrorist militia would have a place.

In his book contribution Human-Animal-Relationship and Animal Welfare in Islam in the book Animal-Human-Ethics , Baghajati takes the view that shafts for Jews and Muslims do not contradict animal welfare.

In his presentation of the facts to the Vienna public prosecutor, Tarafa Baghajati suspected Geert Wilders of incitement. As a result, an investigation was initiated against Wilder.
