Satuelle is a district of the town of Haldensleben in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

Satuelle is north of Haldensleben on the road from Haldensleben to Uthmöden . The Ohre and Mittelland Canal run west of the town . To the south of Satuelle are the Detzel estate and castle , and to the north is the Meiersmühle residential area. The forest areas of the Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide with the Lübberitz forester's lodge extend to the east.

In the vicinity of Satuelles there are also several historical devastations : north of Lauke , east of Groß- and Klein Hermsleben , Tentzenhage and Kulitz .

history

The first documentary mention took place in 1229 as Szatenwelle . In 1557 the Reformation was introduced in Satuelle . Historically, Satuelle belonged to the Prussian province of Saxony , but the village was located directly at the Brunswick office of Calvörde .

politics

The place was an independent municipality until January 1, 1992 and was then incorporated into Haldensleben. There is a local council in Satuelle, and the local mayor is Mario Schumacher.

Buildings

The most striking building in the village is the St. Peter's Church, which dates back to the Romanesque period . To the west of her is a war memorial. Personalities

The writer, educator and folklorist Heinrich Christoph Ferdinand Pröhle (1822–1895) was born in the village . His father was the writer Heinrich Andreas Pröhle (1797–1875) , who was active as pastor in Satuelle from 1821 to 1828 .

The co-founder of the GDR civil rights movement Neues Forum and honorary chairman of the Saxony-Anhalt state association of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen , Hans-Jochen Tschiche, lived in Satuelle .
