German-Turkish Forum

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

German-Turkish Forum (DTF for short) is a platform within the CDU . Member organizations with this name continue to exist within the party's regional and district associations. A distinction must be made between non-party affiliated organizations of the same name at the municipal level in Offenbach am Main and in Stuttgart ( German-Turkish Forum Stuttgart ).

The DTF is a platform for Turkish origin and the integration policy interest of German origin within the CDU and aims to promote "rapprochement between Germans and immigrants while respecting their cultural identity." For this purpose, the forum concentrates on educational, cultural and economic aspects of the integration of residents with a Turkish immigration history . In 2010, forums made up of several party associations drew up a joint basic program.

In 1996 and 1997 the first CDU forums were founded in North Rhine-Westphalia and Berlin . The forum in Berlin was dissolved in 2013 due to the relocation of activities to the “ Network Integration ” of the CDU. In 2014, the North Rhine-Westphalian forum was part of the cross-national "Union of Diversity - State Network Integration of the CDU NRW". In 2016 forums existed in the CDU Bremen , CDU Hamburg and Stuttgart.

According to estimates by the DTF, the CDU already has 2000 members with a Turkish migration background. These include a number of officials and mandate holders such as Ismail Tipi, Member of the State Parliament in Hesse, and Serap Güler, Member of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .

criticism

In June 2009 the DTF-NRW board member Ali H. Yildiz resigned from his office because the DTF did not distance itself clearly enough from the " gray wolves ". Yildiz declared literally: "It cannot be that we unite against Pro Köln on the one hand and court the Turkish NPD through the CDU Cologne on the other." His conscience is not about to continue working with sympathizers of the Turkish right-wing extremists arrange.
