The Deutsche-Afrika-Bank building is a monument in the Namibian coastal town of Lüderitz . The building was erected in 1907 and declared a National Monument on February 7, 1980 .
The Deutsche-Afrika-Bank building was built in 1907 on the basis of plans by Albert Baus as the first bank in Lüderitz. It belonged to the "Deutsche Afrika Bank" as the successor to the "Damara and Namaqua Trading Company (DNTC)". After the First World War the bank was closed and in 1922 it was taken over by the South African National Bank and later by Barclays Bank . In 1958 the building was privately owned by W. Lubowski, Anton Lubowski's father .
Today the building houses a branch of Nedbank Namibia, among other things .
