The German Association of General Practitioners - Landesverband Niedersachsen eV , based in Hanover , represents the interests of general practitioners in Lower Saxony in their own practices or as employees (specialists in general medicine, general practitioners, general practitioners). The chairman is Matthias Berndt. The association is a member of the German Association of General Practitioners at the federal level.

The association is divided into the 10 district associations Aurich , Göttingen , Hanover , Hildesheim , Lüneburg , Oldenburg , Osnabrück , Stade , Verden and Wilhelmshaven .

history

After the constituent meeting of the Landesverband Niedersachsen eV in the Professional Association of Practical Doctors in Germany on May 13, 1961, the first board of the Professional Association of Practical Doctors in Germany - Landesverband Niedersachsen e. V. based in Hanover-Kleefeld, the practice location of the first chairman Karl Lange.

tasks and goals

The association advocates the strengthening of high-quality and comprehensive general practitioner care with the creation of good working conditions for general practitioners as a basis for securing patient care from general practitioners. This includes negotiations with politicians, health insurance companies and all other partners in the health care system as well as public relations work via the media. The aim of the association is the organizational consolidation and representation of all general practitioners working in Lower Saxony and all other general practitioners working in general practitioners

  • to represent their professional and economic interests vis-à-vis the medical bodies, the authorities, the parties, contract negotiations or the conclusion of contracts with health insurance companies (legal entities under public law with self-administration) and vis-à-vis the public
  • to represent their interests vis-à-vis other medical specialist groups
  • to coordinate and pursue common interests with other medical associations
  • to promote training, teaching and research in general medicine
  • to promote further training for general practitioners and further training in general medicine
  • to promote knowledge and opportunities in professional and economic issues
  • to work in public corporations of the medical profession and in political committees

Seminar congress of North German family doctors

In cooperation with the Hausärztliche Servicegesellschaft Niedersachsen mbH , a two-day seminar congress is offered annually in Lüneburg for further training for general practitioners and medical assistants, also as practice teams.

membership

Any general practitioner based in Lower Saxony who is in possession of the active and passive right to vote in medical bodies can be a member of the association. In addition, students of human medicine and interns who are in training and further education with the aim of general medicine, internal medicine, general practitioners, paediatrics, can join the association as members. Retirees can also continue to be listed as members of the family doctors' association free of charge.
