Devil May Cry (Anime)
Devil May Cry is an anime and manga adaptation of the video game series Devil May Cry by the Japanese company Capcom .
The plot continues that of the game Devil May Cry 3 and its chronological successor Devil May Cry . In addition to the main character Dante , the characters known from these games, Lady and Trish, and the new characters Patty and Morrison also appear.

2000 years ago, humanity was threatened by the attack of demons who entered the human world from their world. But Sparda , who was himself a demon, turned against them, fought them and closed the gate to the demon world. The threat has been averted, but demons can still be found in the human world. Sparda's son Dante owns a business called Devil May Cry , where he takes on assignments to kill demons. Little by little the girl Patty Lowell and the demon Trish join him. He is also supported by the demon hunter Lady . Soon he will have to fight a strong opponent who wants to destroy the world of humans and demons.

The manga by Chayamachi Suguro was released in February 2005 under the title Devil May Cry 3 in Japan. Tokyopop's two-volume manga was published in English.

The twelve-episode anime series Devil May Cry was implemented by Studio Madhouse in 2007 . It was directed by Shin Itagaki , the character design was created by Hisashi Abe designed and Katsushi Aoki was artistic director. The series was broadcast from June 14, 2007 to September 6, 2007 by WOWOW in Japan.
The anime was published in English by ADV Films (currently Funimation since 2008) and in French by Dybex . Animax aired the series in Spain and Portugal. The anime was licensed in Germany by Universum Anime and was released on four DVDs from February 4, 2008 when the game Devil May Cry 4 was launched until July 14, 2008. On April 8, 2016, Universum Anime released the entire series for the first time on Blu-ray.
