ADV Films is a subsidiary of AD Vision , which is headquartered in Houston , Texas . She specializes in publishing anime and tokusatsu productions as well as live-action material. The company sells anime in North America and Europe .

The company was founded in 1992 by movie fans John Ledford and Matt Greenfield . This was followed by the first licensing and release of the Devil Hunter Yohko series on video. This included, for example, series like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Full Metal Panic! . In 1996 the first branch was founded in England and ADV Films also gained a foothold in Europe. In addition, they expanded their repertoire this year with series such as Andromeda to include live action and Japanese film productions.

In Germany, the ADV Films program is published through the distributor Universum Film .

The parent company itself announced in autumn 2009 that it was liquidating and taking over its various departments by other companies.
