Dexter Anthony Titus Blackstock (born May 20, 1986 in Oxford ) is an English football player who is currently without a club.

Blackstock is among the international Antigua and Barbuda .

Athletic career

Southampton FC

Dexter Blackstock played for his home club Oxford United's youth teams before moving to Southampton FC in 2003 . After he had celebrated an unexpectedly good debut at his new club, the club management decided to loan him out to Plymouth Argyle for three months and then to Derby County for two months .

Queens Park Rangers

Since Blackstock could not earn a regular place on his return to Southampton FC, he moved in August 2006 for around 500,000 pounds to the Queens Park Rangers in London. In his new team, Blackstock quickly made a name for himself as a regular player. He scored 14 goals in the first season and thus reached number 1 in the club's internal goalscorer list. In 2007, Blackstock was appointed to the national team by the coach of England's U-21s Stuart Pearce because of his good performance . The 2007/08 season was less successful for Blackstock than the previous season and he only scored six goals at the end of the season. In the 2008/09 season he found his way back to his old form all the better and scored twelve goals in the cup and league by the end of January 2009.

Nottingham Forest

In March he moved on loan to the second division nottingham Forest . By the end of the season, Blackstock convinced the Forest officials of his abilities by scoring 2 goals in 6 games and thus helping his new team stay up. As expected, he signed a 4-year contract in July 2009 and moved to Nottingham Forest for a seven-figure fee. In the Football League Championship 2009/10 , Dexter Blackstock scored 13 goals in 41 league games for Nottingham, becoming the second best goalscorer of his team behind Robert Earnshaw (34 games / 17 goals). After very good performances, especially in the middle of the season, Blackstock was unable to preserve its good hit rate towards the end of the season. His team reached the first play-off round after a third place in the table in the regular season. There, Forest failed in two games at Blackpool FC and thus missed promotion to the Premier League . After a good start to the 2010/11 season, Blackstock was seriously injured on November 20, 2010 in the game against Cardiff City and was not used until the end of the season.

On October 24, 2013 Blackstock moved due to lack of playing time on loan to league rivals Leeds United .

England and Antigua and Barbuda

Dexter Blackstock took part in the 18-29 July 2005 European U-19 Championship in Northern Ireland. England reached the semi-finals as second behind France. Blackstock scored his first and only tournament goal in the final 3-2 group win over Norway. In the semifinals, Yugoslavia waited for England and the Blackstock team prevailed with 3-1 goals. It was only in the final that the English team had to admit defeat to France 1: 3.

On February 29, 2012, Blackstock made his debut for the Antigua and Barbuda national team .
