action

The film begins with the murder of a reporter in the remote Indian village of Vikramatheertha. After consultation with the interior minister of the state of Karnataka , she had traveled there to explore the place, which has not yet been shown on any official map. At the same time, Vikram, who dreams of a career in the police, experiences the bitter reality of a deeply corrupt state apparatus when he refuses to bribe the responsible officials and is not admitted to training for that reason alone. His lover Paru urges him to get a good job and a steady salary as soon as possible so that he can settle down with him. When Vikram meets the Minister of the Interior, he complains about his "inability" to corrupt. The Minister of the Interior recognizes Vikram as a man with a backbone and sends him as an intern to the village of Vikramatheertha, where he finds out that the cruel Johnson is suppressing the local population like slaves. The inhabitants remove layers of earth for him under catastrophic conditions, which are then illegally exported by Johnson and with the help of MLA Kulkarini. Vikram can expose the machinations, Vikramatheertha is recognized as part of the state of Karnataka. In the course of events, Vikram also learns that his grandparents Rana Vikrama and Gowri also came from the then independent Vikramatheertha and were still living there when Johnson's grandfather, Sir Louis Batten, invaded the city and took control of the land and people. The newly discovered personal relationship to the residents of Vikramatheertha and their fate triggers a desire for revenge in Vikram, he tracks down Johnson and ultimately kills him.

reception

planning

In October 2013, it was reported for the first time that Pavan Wadeyar would be directing his film with Puneeth Rajkumar in addition to the script. The production should be done by Jayanna Combines, the responsible producer was. The official start of production followed on March 17, 2014, and a first teaser was published on the same day . On this day, Puneeth Rajkumar celebrated his 39th birthday in the midst of his family (including his father Rajkumar ) and a large fan base in the Kanteerava Studios and linked this media-effective event with the grand start of production of his next collaboration with Wadeyar. His brother Shiva Rajkumar took over the flap of the first recording, Parvathamma Rajkumar switched on the camera. According to Pavan, Puneeth Rajkumar takes on the roles of a student and a police officer in the film. Well-known Tamil / Telugu actress Anjali returned to Sandalwood for the role of Lover. The official start of shooting was June 9, 2014, and Bangalore was chosen as the main location. For the key scenes, a huge outdoor set was erected at Hampi on the banks of the Tungabadra River. It is said to have been one of the most expensive film sets in Kannada film history. Actor Yash attended the filming in Hampi. While his father and brother Shiva had made films there before, it was Puneeth Rajkumar's first visit to the Hampi. Adah Sharma's first scene was shot on a subway station in Bangalore and made the film the first Kannada film to be shot on the Namma Metro. Other larger scenes were created in Bangalore, Belagavi, Hospete, Sandur and in the area around Donimalai. The dramatic climax was filmed over 18 days at the Jindal factory in Bellary. The producers invested Rs 1.25 crore in this scene alone. For his performance of a hyper-dynamic cinematic climax, director Pavan Wadeyar had a huge 10 kg firearm specially designed. A reduced core team of only 16 participants flew to Milan (Italy) for the final filming, where the last stone fell in January 2015.

post-production

Post-production began during the final phase of filming. Puneeth was invited to the studio for dubbing at the end of February, but the work had to be interrupted due to a cold. Vikram Singh finished his dubbing on March 9, 2015. Leading actress Anjali was in the recording studio until March 19, 2015, it was her first dubbing in the Kannada film.
