Dhupguri is a city in the Indian state of West Bengal .

The city is part of the Jalpaiguri district . Dhupguri has the status of a municipality . The city is divided into 16 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had 44,719 inhabitants, of which 22,953 were men and 21,766 women. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of approx. 94%. Muslims form a minority with a share of around 6%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 86.3%, above the national average.

Agriculture is the backbone of the economy. Rice, jute, betel nuts and vegetables are produced in large quantities in and around Dhupguri. It is known for its potatoes, which are exported to Bihar , Assam, and the northeastern states of India. International trade has increased and Dhupguri potatoes are available in the markets of Bangladesh , Nepal and Bhutan .
