Diana Bulimar
Diana Bulimar (born August 22, 1995 in Timișoara ) is a Romanian artistic gymnast .
She started doing gymnastics at kindergarten age. At the first Youth Olympic Games in 2010 , she won the silver medal in floor exercise.
In 2011 Bulimar took part in the World Championships for the first time and reached fourth place with the Romanian team. At the European Gymnastics Championships in 2012 , she was able to win the European title with the Romanian team. In the same year the Olympic Games took place in Beijing. There Bulimar won bronze with the Romanian team behind the USA and Russia.
In 2013 Bulimar won her first individual medals at the European Championships in Moscow. She was second on the balance beam, behind her compatriot Larisa Iordache , and third on the ground and fourth in the all-around event. However , she missed the World Championships that same year due to an injury.
At the 2014 European Gymnastics Championships in Bulgaria, Bulimar and the Romanian team were able to repeat winning the European Championship title two years ago. In the individual all-around, she just missed a medal on the ground as fourth behind the Swiss Giulia Steingruber . However , she had to cancel the 2014 World Gymnastics Championships again due to an injury.
On her comeback, she was tenth in the all- around competition at the 2015 European Gymnastics Championships. At the gymnastics world championships in 2015 Bulimar could not reach a final and the Romanian team also missed the direct qualification for the 2016 Olympic Games in 13th place. Even at the qualifying tournament in April 2016, the Romanian team could not qualify for the games, so only a single starter was allowed to participate. Although Bulimar was the best Romanian in the all-around event as 24th, but in contrast to Cătălina Ponor could not place in any device among the top three. Before the Olympic Games in Rio, the 2016 European Gymnastics Championships were held in Switzerland, but Bulimar missed them due to an injury.
