Diana Menschig (born September 30, 1973 in Viersen ) is a German writer whose works are assigned to the fantastic . She publishes historical fiction under the pseudonym Marie Buchinger .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1993 at the Albertus-Magnus-Gymnasium Viersen-Dülken , she studied psychology at the University of Bielefeld and graduated in 1998 with a diploma thesis on perspective and xenophobia . After professional positions in market research and personnel correction, she started her own business for the first time in the period 2004–2006 and was the owner of a game shop. Another position followed in personnel recruitment and marketing, before she decided to go freelance again in 2009. From 2009–2018 she was an honorary lecturer at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences and the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences (2010–2012). In 2013 and 2015 she was part of the project group for the Children's and Young People's Literature Days (KiJuLitTa) in Dülken. In November 2015 she founded the authors' association Fantastic Authors Network (PAN) with like-minded people in order to help the Fantastik gain more prestige in the literary landscape. She has been CEO since the company was founded. In this role she organizes, among other things, the PAN branch meeting of Fantastik, which has taken place every year since 2016. For her work, colleague Bernhard Hennen publicly referred to her as the lobbyist for fantasy . Diana Menschig is married and lives in Dülken .

Diana Menschig's debut novel Guardian of Words was published by Droemer Knaur in 2012. In addition to other novels and short stories that have appeared in various anthologies, she publishes the series Places A Nerd Must Have Visited on tor-online.de at irregular intervals .
