Dianne Holum

Dianne Holum (born May 19, 1951 in Chicago ) is a former American speed skater .

At the 1968 Olympic Games in Grenoble , she won the silver medal over 500 meters and the bronze medal over 1000 meters. At the 1972 Olympic Games , she won the gold medal over 1500 meters. Over 3000 meters she was able to add silver to her collection of medals.

After her career as a runner, she became a trainer and coached Eric Heiden in his five-fold success at the 1980 Olympic Games in Lake Placid . Her daughter Kirstin Holum was also a speed skater.
