Dick LaPalm

Dick LaPalm (born June 23, 1927 in Chicago - † October 7, 2013 ) was an American pop and jazz promoter and music producer .

Dick LaPalm worked from 1958 in Chicago for Chess Records (from 1963 to 1970 in a leading position), later also for Cadet Records , during his career a. a. with Dorothy Ashby , Count Basie , Nat King Cole , Lou Donaldson , Peggy Lee , Mel Tormé , Sarah Vaughan , the Modern Jazz Quartet , Woody Herman , Dick Haymes , Ahmad Jamal , Sonny Rollins and Marlena Shaw . In 2007 he published a list of what he considered to be the most influential radio jazz DJs.
