Didier Quentin (born December 23, 1946 in Royan ) is a French politician . He has been a member of the National Assembly since 1993 .

Quentin attended school in Royan and studied human and political sciences and law in Bordeaux and Paris . He then attended the École nationale d'administration , which he graduated in 1974. After completing his studies, he worked as a diplomat .

First he worked in the French Mission in New York to the United Nations . In the USA he was also Consular General in Houston . Later he was press spokesman for the French Foreign Ministry and worked as an advisor to various ministers. Until 1995 he was diplomatic advisor to Jacques Chirac , who was elected President that same year.

In addition to his diplomatic activities, Quentin was a member of the Royan Municipal Council from 1989 and in 1992 a member of the Regional Council of the Poitou-Charentes region .

On January 1, 1997, he was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor . In the parliamentary elections in the same year he was elected to the National Assembly in the fifth constituency of the Charente-Maritime department . He was re-elected in 2002, 2007, 2012 and 2017. He has also been Mayor of Royan since 2008.
