The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn ( Japanese ハ ッ ク ル ベ リ ー ・ フ ィ ン 物語 , Hakkuruberī Fin Monogatari ) is an anime television series directed by Aubeck in 1994. It is based on the novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain .

When the half- orphan Huckleberry Finn , whose father left him alone, arrives in the city of St. Petersburg on the Mississippi River , he soon meets Tom Sawyer. The same age is known in the city for his pranks. The two fight at first, but quickly become friends with pranks and adventures. Even Tom's aunt Polly and his girlfriend Becky can't stop them from putting themselves in danger again and again.

Production and publication

The series with 26 episodes of 25 minutes each was produced in 1994 by Studio Aubeck for NHK . Masako Matsuura and Yoshi Enoki from the production company Enoki Films were responsible as producers . The director was Norio Kashima and the scripts were written by Saburo Ebinuma and Soji Yoshikawa . The character design is by Kenichi Ishimaru and the artistic director was Tarao Arai .

The anime was first broadcast by NHK from August 26, 1994 to March 3, 1995 as part of the Eisei Anime Gekijō program block . A German version was first shown by Kabel 1 on December 13, 1995 . It was later broadcast on RTL 2 , but without the 26th episode. The first three episodes were released in 1996 by Concorde Video on VHS. In Poland the series was seen on Polsat 2 and TVP2 , in Portugal on RTP2 , in the Philippines on ABS-CBN and Studio 23 , in Italy on Italia 1 and in Spain on Telecinco . An English version was released on DVD by Digiview Entertainment.

The music in the series was composed by Ikuro Fujiwara and Kōji Murakami . The Japanese opening credits are underlaid with the song Moment , the closing title is Paradise in your eyes . Both come from Wotako.
