The Allies were a German Oi! - / Punk band from Wuppertal .

history

Her only long-playing record, Fame and Honor , released on Rock-O-Rama in 1983 , enjoys cult status in the punk and Oi! Scene. Although large parts of the Oi! Movement streamed into the right-wing extremist camp at the time and were at odds with the punk scene, the Allies spoke out in favor of solidarity in the song Skins & Punx and against racism in the song Blinder Hass , the text of which is printed on the back of the album cover and anti-Semitism .

The band's guitarist was Caspar Brötzmann , “ who, according to the band, was responsible for the 'too liberal' and punk-friendly lyrics, for which the readers of 'Clockwork Orange' were more or less apologized afterwards. Which of course led to the suspension of that same Caspar B. ".

Live recordings of a concert together with The Skeptix , Cotzbrocken , B. Trug and OHL should be released in 1984 on the LP Live im Stollwerck , but this never appeared. The instrumental track Ruhm und Ehre , already published on the album of the same name, appeared on the LP No Surrender! Vol. 2 , on which Skrewdriver and other right-wing rock bands also appeared. Due to the business policy of the Rock-O-Rama owner Herbert Egoldt and the previous positioning of the band, it is not unlikely that this happened without the approval of the band members.

In the 1990s the LP was re-released as a bootleg , with the label name being replaced by "Shock & Drama", based on the song of the same name by the punk band Äni (X) väx , which attacked Egoldt's business practices.
