A letter ticket and a mega letter ticket

The letter ticket is a tear-off ticket and thus an instant lottery of the Austrian Lotteries . It was brought onto the market in 1980 by the Austrian Gaming Monopoly Administration, then spun off on January 1, 1990 and transferred to the Austrian Lotteries. Since December 2006, the lot has also been offered in electronic form on the win2day online portal .

General

A series of the tear-open tickets from Austrian Lotteries can contain between two and six million tickets . Since November 17, 2008, there has been a new profit distribution at Brieflos. This means that in addition to the 3 × 100,000 euros as the main prize, there are a little more than 500,000 prizes more than the old system.

Since November 17, 2008, there has been a Mega Brieflos in addition to the postal ticket. In addition to format and size, the Mega Brieflos also differs from the standard Brieflos in price, it costs twice as much, i.e. 2 euros, the main hit and the payout rate. The main prize is 3 × 250,000 euros.

In May 1990, shortly after the postal ticket was taken out of the Austrian gaming monopoly administration and incorporated into the Austrian Lotteries, the ORF started a game show entitled "Millions Wheel" with Peter Rapp as the presenter.

In the beginning of 2002 was changed due to the introduction of the euro, the name of the millions wheel in the Brieflosshow . The central part of the show, the million wheel with 80 fields in which a solid rubber ball bounces around as a profit indicator, was retained. In September 2014, the show was completely revamped, and since then the letterless show has come from a new studio. In 6 out of 45 and bingo , there are no changes, but the two programs also come from the new studio.

On March 28, 2018, it was announced that the show, like bingo , will be discontinued at the end of 2018. ORF and Lotteries justify this step by stating that these formats are no longer up to date. However, since the winnings of letter tickets are valid for at least three years, the opportunity to spin the wheel must also be offered after the TV broadcast has ended. The last broadcast was on December 30, 2018.

Shipment structure

The candidates for an edition are already drawn in the previous broadcast. In the public rounds, two candidates from the audience compete against each other in two games and can win cash prizes or a material prize. In the middle of the program, an artist or group of artists appears with a short performance. After the performance, there is usually some self-promotion, for example by showing your own CD or announcing tour dates. The central element of the shipment, however, is the letter-less wheel , which is operated by two candidates in each shipment. In the meantime, the moderator of the show is talking to the participants in the show. TV viewers can give tips over the phone as to what amount the candidate will earn on the postal ticket wheel . There are 100 tickets to be won. The Brieflos-Rad itself is divided into 80 so-called profit fields. There are two fields each with 40,000 euros or 30,000 euros and the “double” prize, 3 fields each for 100,000 euros (main prize) or 50,000 euros, 4 fields for 20,000 euros, 9 fields for 10,000 euros, 10 fields each for 5,000 or Promise 4,000 euros profit, 11 fields with 3,000 euros as profit and 12 fields each that can bring in 1,000 euros or 5 Philharmonic gold coins as a profit.
