The Cadizier are a Swiss punk band from Zug, founded in 1992 .

biography

The Cadizians became known as early as 1992 when they performed in Bremgarten on the roof of the occupied clothing factory in front of 10,000 spectators. Since then, the Cadizier have released a mini CD (Halt's Maul Blocher ) and an album (Alles Klar?) In self-distribution or under their own label, Rat Cave Records. The name Die Cadizier is based on Cádiz in Spain .

Musically, the Cadizier can be seen as a German punk band with a punk rock moderate tempo, sophisticated melodies, ska interference and angry lyrics. Many texts by the Cadizians are directed against Christoph Blocher and the SVP . The Cadizier have also used various fancy costumes in their stage shows.

The band gained greater fame in the punk scene and made it to the most famous German punk samplers of the time such as Partisans and Battle Calls BRD together with bands such as Die Toten Hosen and others

There was never an official breakup, although the band has not appeared in public since 2000.

In the spring of 2014 the Cadizians will go on tour again after 13 years of abstinence. On January 17th of the same year they played their first concert under the pseudonym "Ueli's Rache".

Singer Hanke is leaving Cadizier in early 2017.
